Author name: Caesar van Everdingen.
(1617-1678). He was from an artistic family that included his younger brother Allaert who was an engraver and draughtsman. Cesar spent most of his life in Alkmaar in the Netherlands, but was associated with the Haarlem school of Dutch painting. Like this group, he painted historical and genre paintings that were executed in an idealized and classical style.
