Alexander Ivanov (1806-1858)

Author name: Alexander Ivanov also known as Aleksandr Andreyevich Ivanov.
(1806, St. Petersburg, Russia – 1858, St. Petersburg, Russia). He had his study at the Academy of Arts from his father Andrei A. Ivanov ( 1817 - 1824 ). He studied there with Karl Briullov. Ivanov moved in 1830 to Italy and traveled all over the country to paint and studied the Art of Master pieces. In Rome he became a good friend with Gogol. After a few months he returned to Russia, Alexander Ivanov died in his born town St. Petersburg in 1858 from cholera.
